« on: Thursday 07 June 07 14:07 BST (UK) »
Im looking for anything on my grandfather or his parents please. His name was Arthur James Norris and he was born 1902 in Huntspill. His parents were Wallace and Eliza maiden name Witcombe not sure of the surname spelling though. We know Arthur married Lillian Evans and he died in Oxford. If you can find anything out at all about the family we would be grateful.
                                            Kind regards

you didn't acknowledge my previous finds. Have you seen them at all? Do you think they weren't the family you were looking for?

Question is why was she called Norris at marriage...

I can see a marriage
Eliza Whitcombe to possibly Michael Henry Norris
March quarter 1887 Bridgwater (right registration district for Shapwick) 5c 516

There is a death for a Michael Henry Norris in the March quarter 1890 in the Wells registration district, but his age is not clear at all - have a look:

Hi Tati
Not sure on the marriage it could be he liked to be called Wallace for some reason. It would seem right by date and her name. Do you know if they had any children so i could look into it that way Thanks.

I think she perhaps first married Michael Norris, and then Wallace - see other thread where I found a Wallace Norris marrying an Eliza Norris  :)
