Thank you ever so much for looking on my behalf, I really do appreciate your help.
I can't say if this is the same person or not as I don't know anything about her family. Apart from the names John, William and Isaac (extremely common ones in my tree!) none of the names given as Ann's siblings were names of her children, not that this proves anything I suppose.
I don't actually know where White Notley is in relation to Moreton, is it nearby? Plus, I hope this isn't a stupid question but I'll ask anyway - was Searles an alternative spelling to Searle or a completely different family?
Thank you once again for searching through your files for me.
Kind regards, Kathy.

Hi Kathy,

You will find Searles spelled many ways e.g. Sarls, Sarles, Serles and Searles and of course all of those without the s.  There are no doubt other variants but I've just listed those I've personally come across in my Searles research.

According to map quest, Moreton is 25.9 miles by road from White Notley.  Don't let distance bother you too much, it is not uncommon for people to move from one end of a county to the other.  I have an ancestor who was baptised in Yorkshire and married in Essex, some moved from the next County, one was born in Norfolk and married in Coggeshall, Essex.

The IGI also has a few Searles in White Notley, 8 baptisms on batch number C047541 and one marriage on M047541, John Searles married Ann Biggs at White Notley on 12 Nov 1745.

Regards
Concentrating currently on:
Essex: Card, Harris, Stowell, Theobald/Tibbles & Turner.
Norfolk: Beale, Cork & Dalton.
Yorkshire: Oswald Sturdy birth/baptism c1708, Oswald where the devil are you?

Thank you very much, I will definitely look down this path now. Maybe it will explain why I haven't had any luck searching for Anne Searle when she lived a fair distance away from where I thought she lived.

Best wishes, Kathy.
