Fewell, Fuell - again all areas.

Searle - I am stuck with this one so any help will be very gratefully received!

If anyone is interested I am more than happy to share the info that I have.  :)

Hi Kathy and welcome to rootschat

Have you had a look at the Surnames Interest table (link at the bottom of the page - Your Surname Interests)

Rootschatters can enter their surnames into the table and see if any matches occur with other rootschatters.

You might be lucky enough to find a match.

Best wishes

Kerry

Thanks Kerry, I did actually add my names to that a while ago but didn't think to check out for any matches. I'll go and do that now.

Kind regards, Kathy.

Hi Kath,

Just wanted to say - I have read as far as page 8 but I really must go to bed as it's 12.45am, oops! I'll read the rest tomorrow evening..

So far most of the posts aren't connected to my Fewell tree (mine being Thomas Fewell and Sarah Bacon) but I will add some data incase it helps anyone else.

Best wishes, Kathy.

Hi Findem,

Thanks for your offer of help, I really would be grateful for anything as this is a part of my tree that I really am stuck with.

Anne Searle c1762 married John Waterman c1759 in Moreton on 27/7/1780. They were both written as being 'of this parish' but that doesn't necessarily mean they were born there! Their children were all born in Hatfield Broad Oak, Essex. I have a possible burial date for her as being 21/12/1844 in Hatfield Broad Oak age 82.

...and that's all I have. If you could find anything to do with her family then that would be fantastic!  :)

Kind regards, Kathy.

Hi KathyW,

The only Ann Searles born c1762 I could find was one born 1762 at White Notley.   Her parents were John Searles and Ann Biggs (of White Notley) who married 12 Nov 1745 at White Notley.  I'll list the children in case the names help to decide if Ann fits the bill.
John b1746 d1747.
John b1747 d1821.
William b1751 d1752.
William b1753 d1759.
Richard 1756 d1756.
Ruth b1758.
Hannah b1759.
Sarah b1761.
Ann b1762.
Isaac b1764.

The author of the info, Ken Searles, believes that John senior might possibly be the son of Giles Searles of Cressing but because the pre 1733 PRs for Cressing are lost Ken couldn't prove the link.
The dates as they are above are all I can give you, the author collected the info for his Searles book "From Bardfield to Brookend", after the book was published his research notes were destroyed, so in many cases all that remains are the year of the event.

I have nothing in my Searles tree to help you and nothing in my 'Spares" database either, sorry I can't be of more help but perhaps this Ann might be worth pursuing.  Incidentally the author did not show a marriage for Ann, he may have missed it in the White Notley PRs but then again perhaps Ann didn't marry in White Notley.

Hope this is of some help.

Regards
