Hi Prue.
Yes I did know that they were 3/D pics.I have a set of cards and I did have a viewer,but that has been lost.
My grandmother gave me the cards when I was young.I found them years later in my Dad's shed!
Only afew were of family,the rest are views of the Medway towns.

Hello Jean

I am currently researching Victorian Nurseries which specialised in selling Ferns as a project for the British Pteridological (Fern) Society and have come across a number of reference for the nursery in Strood. Starting which Josiah Illman 1855 - c. 1870, then S. Illman from 1871, followed by Richard from 1877. My dates are from trade adverts and articles so the exact crossover between family member is not precise. The nursery appears to have issued a number of catalogues and lists of ferns during the period. So far I have found no trace or record that these still exist so I was interested in your mention of a booklet on the nursery. Is that something you have a copy of ? I'm happy to share the information I have found so far if that is of interest.
