Thank you for replies so far. I have no idea about DPI, I'm afraid! Scanning again fills me with some anxiety. I spent ages just trying to get them posted at all.
Any tutorial re posting or scanning pictures is wasted on me.I just do not grasp what is written.
Ask me to find someone in a BMD site or a census, then fine! Anything technical and I need someone here with me to explain every word and write it down in words of one syllable, in a simple list of things to do! Sorry. Please could someone clever try to improve the photos as they are? :-[

I think I have scanned this at 600. My scanner has decided to have all its instructions in Spanish :o
