I have a relation
Samuel Boyd
- who, according to the 1901 census, was a Police constable living in
Govan, Lanarkshire
. Would someone have any knowledge of anywhere I could any information of his records, etc.
Thank
Mark

The records of the City of Glasgow Police are held at the Mitchell - although technically he wasn't in the Glasgow Police he would have been in Govan Burgh Police - I am sure that the records which survived the various amalgamations are all with the Mitchell in Glasgow.
This link from Strathclyde Police explains the procedures and what records are open

Thanks for the leads - I had been stuck but this has given me another angle to go on.
