James' father was a farmer, so maybe he emigrated to Ireland to try to acquire a farm of his own?

Hi,
My parents lived in Cavan and I do remember my Dad talking about a James Wood who lived in Killeshandra when he was young. There is a recent Wood headstone in the Croghan cemetery which Hallmark has very kindly donated. Thanks to him I have found several of my ancestors.
Maybe worth digging around here. Earlier in this thread Hallmark has posted a link to various cemeteries.
Good luck
