Can anyone help please
« on: Wednesday 23 May 07 19:25 BST (UK) »
I am trying to connect Peter Dannet born 1714. Married to Margaret Ward 09 Jul 1752 at Nettleton Lincs. to George Dannatt born about 1757. George Dannatt is my 3rd great grandfather  who married Sarah Fanthorpe 07 June 1782 at North Willingham Lincs. I have seen the parish record for George & Sarah's wedding but I could not make anything else out apart from their names.

Peter Dannet had a son named George who was christened 06 March 1757 Nettleton Lincs.

Where do I go from here?

Lincs John ???

Have you looked at Probate records?  If any of the family before your earliest date left wills it may be possible to take the record back one or two or more generations.   Perhaps your local library may have Indexes to Lincoln Wills. otherwise Lincoln Record office can help.. Did you mean you were unable to read the marriage record fully?

Thank you Graham, I had not thought about Probate records.

That's correct Graham I was unable to read the marriage record fully. I could make out the names of George Dannatt and Sarah Fanthorpe but was unable to make out the names of any witnesses or a deal else.
Regards
John

Hello John
Could you get a copy of the marriage entry and reproduce it on Rootschat?
Then someone who can read paleography (old handwriting) may be able to assist.  I would be happy to see if I can do so.

Hi John,

I have had a close look at this entry in the North Willingham parish records. The witnesses were George WHITWORTH and Mary BUTTONS. Mary was unable to write her name.

Hi Rover72, Thank you very much for that information. I was hoping you was going to say something else.
