but maybe she had gone abroad havent checked that option.
if the marriage found was correct maybe her husband died and she remarried

or Ann* COx (i phoentic searched surnames too)

not the right age or right area - although she could have lived anywhere
again none for Ann* Norris (phoentic search surname) of the right age even allowing for a few years no matches

 Going by the census Ambrose married Claudia Mary Durston

6     Joseph Witcombe was baptised at Shapwick 13 Feb 1829. He married Jane Hucker in the Bridgwater Reg Dist between April and July 1855. I would imagine that they married in Shapwick as this was where they both came from. Jane's parents were Henry Hucker a farm labourer born abt 1806 and Maria born abt 1810  (from the 1851 census) both at Othery.

Marriage at Middlezoy on 4 Apr 1781. Henry's parents were Oram Hucker, 12 May
1775, Othery, - 12 Nov 1854, Othery, and Ellen Perratt, 1773 - 1853, Middlezoy.
Oram and Ellen wed at Othery, 31 Aug 1795. Oram's parents were George Hucker,
8 Dec 1732 - 7 Dec 1792, of Othery, and Martha Keirle, 1734, Stoke St. Gregory -
4 Nov 1791, Othery. George and Martha wed at Othery on 23 Mar 1755. Martha's
parents were Arthur Keirle and Joan Small. Georges parents were Oram Hucker and
Elizabeth Lee.

                  Thanks so much for that info, will make a note of it and see if i can tie it in

with my family. The Eliza Witcombe who married into the Norris family ( my gr gr grandfather)

was from Shapwick so its looking good
