hello, In response to your Sarah Allen, I have a Jane Allen in my tree, from bellaghy area born 1830's married bellaghy church 1864, father samuel. I am thinking they were cousins. Have you found any other info related to the family. Here is another tidbit, there is a website about drumpamph very close to bellaghy area. The website lists the residents of drumlamph, there are a lot of Allen's. Namely an Alexander could be father to your Sarah. Let me know what you think.....  :)

Hi Ann,

I'm afraid I haven't made any further progress beyond John Burnside and Sarah Allen's fathers being William and Alexander, respectively.  When they married in 1859, Sarah's residence was Killyberry and an Alexander Allen appears in the 1858? Griffiths' Valuation as being in Killyberry, who I have assumed is Sarah's father.

It's possible that Jane Allen and her father Samuel are relations, but I'm sorry that I haven't made a connection to Drumlamph yet.

Best wishes

PRONI has the following- "Probate of the Will of Alexander Allen late of Kilberry County Londonderry Farmer who died 11 January 1911 granted at Londonderry to James Johnston Farmer."

Here's the family in 1901 census-

Thanks for your reply, good news I have actual documents stating that my Jane Allen gave birth to children born in Killyberry.  Too close to be a coincidence, pls keep in touch. If I find anything, will contact you...all the best Annie

Hi Annie,

It certainly appears that there might be a connection and I'll come back and post here if I find anything.

Aghadowey's post has also just reminded me that I have a copy of the 1911 will of Alexander Allen that I obtained ages ago.  I'll dig it out and see if it has any clues.

Thanks
