It might be possible to see them in London somewhere, I'm not sure.
Otherwise, do you live near a Family History Center run by the LDS ? www.familysearch.org  If they have the records which you need then you can order them for a small fee and look at them there.

Thanks Gardener
I have looked online at the IGI, but have found that it is not always correct.  One of the records states my gt grandfather's wife as Elizabeth and another Ann and it is this link that I am trying to find.  Because my gt grandfather was born around 1831 before modern register of 1837, I am finding it increasingly difficult to get any further back, when I found the family history to this date quite easy by sending for certificates, but I don't know how to get hold of a record pre 1837.  I have had this on hold now for almost 7 years.
Thank again
Alliheat :)

Hi Alliheat,

If you were able to view them at an LDS centre, as suggested by Gardener, I think you would be able to see film of the actual PRs rather than what is transcribed on the online IGI site.  You would then be able to see whether it had been transcribed correctly with regards to your great grandfather's wife.

Thanks Maggie, I wasn't very clear was I?

But that is what I meant Aliheat, if you go to the familysearch page and click on "family history catalogue" in the blue line towards the topp, you can enter the place name and find exactly which records they have for that parish. Sometimes they have both PR and Bishops Transcripts on micro film, sometimes just one of them.
On the same page (Family History Catalogue) you can click the blue bar againto chose "family history center" and see where your nearest one would be. They would be able to tell you prices and waiting times I am sure.

Thanks to Maggiefishblue and Gardener
I have always intended to find my nearest LDS maybe I should get out of my seat and finally go and have a look.  I have been down to London to the Family Records a couple of times, but I don't think I made best use of my time there and tried to fit in too much in the time I had.
Thanks again
PS Gardener you appear to be researching around the Black Country.  Wouldn't be around Wednesbury or Dudley would it?  Sorry to be so cheeky.
Thanks
Alliheat

Hi Aliheat
It is around Dudley/Rowley Regis/Halesowen but I'm doing it even more long distance than you  :)
One of the problems with Dudley area is that even if you go to Dudley archives you may find that the records you want are elsewhere what with Dudley being Worcestershire but most of the surrounding places Staffordshire - and Halesowen sometimes counted as Shropshire!
You may find help on www.rowleyregis.com which attracts some local people who know where places are/were.

I go to Worcester occasionally. Live nearby but work and family commitments limit my time!

If you are prepared to be patient you could let me know brief details and I don't mind taking a look next time I am there.

Thanks very much Netti
If you do have any time left I would appreciate any help.
I am looking for the parents of William Morris, born abt 1831 he states around Wordsley/Dudley area.  His father's name is Thomas, but I don't know his mother's name and without it I keep finding details of the wrong family as there are hundreds of Morris family around that area.  He married in Dudley in 1853 to Mary Ann Smith, but I can't get any further back, though not through lack of trying I must say.  There is a possibility that his father Thomas could have come from Wales!
Thanks Aliheat :)
