Cheers Roy

Glad that we could be of some help.

On the 1851 census Emma Linton (living with George and Ann Bridger) is shown as being from Taunton.

Another thing that I noticed, incidentally, is that on the 1861 census Ann Bridger (who I have assumed was Morgan Ann Linton) gives her age as 38 which would indicate a birth year of 1823. She also gives her age as 38 in 1851 which would indicate the 1813 birth year.

How old does it say she is in 1842 on her marriage certificate ?

This might be why we cannot find these two after 1871.

Probable Death Registration

1876 Newport M. JAS quarter 11a 104

Arthur Linton (Aged 48)

1881 Census RG11/5263 Folio 11 Page 15

Shows Mary Ann Linton as a Widow living with two of their children.

Probable Death Registration

1875 Newport M. OND quarter 11a 116

Julia West (Aged 43)

Yes, I was getting mixed up with another emma from another family.
I've taken it as being 1813.
On her marriage cert she just says of age.
I've searched the IGI for her bapt without any success and am now pinning my hopes on a site I found the other day. It's the Ceech St Michael website and they're gradually transcribing the PRs and, so, hoipefully some of mine will pop up soon.
