Richard Smallwood
« on: Friday 18 May 07 10:47 BST (UK) »
I hope someone can help me to solve this mystery I have. George Smallwood married Jane Hotham on  December 6, 1741, they had a son named Richard Smallwood born April 24, 1743. Then Jane (Hotham) Smallwood dies September 13, 1743. Then George Smallwood remarries Ann Blacknurn August 12, 1745. Then George Smallwood and Ann Blackburn have a son named Richard Smallwood born April 29, 1753.

What I would like to know is:

1. Is this same George Smallwod or is it two different George Smallwood's?

2. The two Richard's I need to know who they both married?

3. I have a Richard Smallwood married to an Margaret Collins, but I have no idea which Richard Smallwood it was who married Margaret Collins if it was Richard born in 1743 or the Richard born 1753.

They were all born in Sutton Upon Derwent.  Can someone please help me!

If anyone is doing research on tthis family I would like to hear from you!!!

     Thanks!!!!

They could be cousins.  I have lots of ancestors who were cousins who shared names and their children shared names too.  It seemed to be a common thing to do.

Hi, I knew a George Smallwood who lived in Sutton on Derwent. I can't remember when he died, but his Son and Grandson still live there and are in the telephone directory.
