1891/1901 lookup please - Taylor family - Poplar/Newington
« on: Tuesday 15 May 07 16:36 BST (UK) »
Looking for Frederick Taylor, wife Henrietta and family in 1891 and 1901.

Frederick born about 1860, Lambeth? Newington? Lead Glazier by trade.
Henrietta born about 1861, Camberwell. (Possibly died between 1891 and 1901, not sure).
Alexander born May 1891 Poplar.
And possibly William and Alfred + more?

Should be living around the Poplar, Newington or possibly Southwark areas. Any addresses given would be a great help in working out if right family.

Think I've found Frederick & Henrietta (m.s. Isern) in 1881 - not married then and living with parents etc, both in Newington.

Many thanks for any help.

Anne

Many thanks Suz. That was quick!
On the 1881 census for Henrietta it says her mother Elizabeth Isern was a widow. Is there any chance it could be her (Elizabeth) instead of her father if badly written?

Thanks once again and keeping my finger's crossed for any sighting of them in 1891.

Regards
Anne

Looking at the 1901 again -no first name has been transcribed-image looks like Wm, but further investigation it could be Mrs. Age is in female column. Relationship looks like Fr in law -but could just as well be M in law. The image is very clearly written until it comes to that one entry. marital status looks like "M"-but the M doesn't look like any others on the page, so I guess it could be W

Still looking 1891,

Thank you very much Suz for the 1891 info! That address sounds familiar - will have to check some paperwork.

Thanks also for clarifying the Isern entry in 1901 - given the 1891 info, it does look like it was Henrietta's mother with them - whichever one it was, just having an Isern there at all, means it's the correct family.

You have been a great help.
