Thank you for that additional information. These are very likely members of the extended family in Clogherney .
The Griffiths Valuation did list quite a few people named Glass in County Tyrone, though only one from Clogherney - Tattykeeran  , to be specific, Regards, Thommoje

 Hello,
I have looked at the Thomas Glass + Mary Jane McElroy pairing as I believe , but cannot prove , that Thomas was a younger brother of my Great Grandfather , Samuel Glass. Samuel Glass + Margaret Rae ( Wray) were married in Clogherney parish as were Thomas + Mary Jane, as you know.
This is such a small place, that it seems likely.
I believe Thomas + Mary Jane had these children that I can find so far :-

William James Glass b 29 Aug 1866 , Six Mile Cross, Co. Tyrone

Margaret Glass           14 July 1868                          Co Tyrone

       James Glass                28 Dec 1869                           '
                                            a possible marriage - Mary Anne Graham  16 - 11 1893 , Clogherney Parish

Samuel Glass             28 June 1871   Six Mile Cross         "

John Glass                 23 Mar   1874                          Co Tyrone

These childrens names match the family names of the children of Samuel Glass + Margaret Rae.
Samuel Glass` father was Samuel and Mary Jane`s father was James McElrae.
Don`t know if any of that is helpful but it is what I have gleaned so far,                                       Regards, Thommoje

I have archived your information and will watch for any links I see. James is certainly a well-used name in the McElrea family in the correct time-frame.

Thank you for sharing what you have.

I am also reseaching the Glass family from Co. Tyrone.  Legend has it that 3 brothers came from Scotland in the mid 1700's and each settled in different parts of Co. Tyrone.  My line settled in the Plumbridge area, Aughalane to be precise.  I can trace back only as far as Alexander, b 1794, my gggf.  His son John, my ggf, had many children and many of their offspring were named Samuel.  Some of those folks went back to Scotland in the late 1800's, I suspect to be with other relatives, possibly yours.  Although I have not been able to link the different Glass families in Tyrone, I am betting there is a link.  My line were Presbyterian and Glenelly Presbyterian Church records are online.  Hope you have good luck with your family search.

Thommoje,

I am trying to trace a Stewart Fulton White who married an Ann Rae about 1829. Both were born about 1806. From the “Flax Growers List of 1796” I think it likely that Stewart came from either Ardstraw or Clogherny and given the age of your Margaret Rae, there is a strong possibility that her father, James Rae, was the brother of my Ann Rae.

All just possibilities at this stage, but if you manage to push the line further back and find any of those names I would appreciate knowing about it.
