GRINDON Parish Records?

Hi There

I was wondering if anyone would know where someone would be baptised, if they were born in Grindon, County Durham?  I found out that the church in Grindon had closed down in 1812.  The relatives I'm looking for are baptised from 1813 onwards.  Might they have been baptised in Stockton?  Does anyone know which parish covered Grindon after 1812?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Durham Record Office have the baptisms for Grindon St. James the Greater from May 1566 to December 1972.

The original church of St Thomas a Beckett at Grindon itself is now a ruin, and was replaced by a church at Thorpe Thewles in 1848, this church was pulled down in 1886, and rebuilt as St. James in 1887. Although the church was replaced it is still the same parish, and the parish records are continuous.
