This one is a long shot  in 1891, RG12/797  f.107  p.12, I can see a Harry Jordan living in Lewes with his sister Annie (stepchildren of David and Ann MORLEY) Let me know if you want the details, and there is this marriage,

Please could you let me have the details for Harry and his sister Annie in 1891 so i can tie it in / rule it out

Thanks Ian,

I wonder why Frank JORDAN was listed as son whereas the other JORDAN children are listed as step children. do you think he is David MORLEY's child but was born prior to David and Ann being married? the possibilites are endless aren't they.
 
From this census piece you would assume that Ann was originally a BARRINGER before marrying a JORDAN who for whatever reason disappeared most likely death and then she remarried David MORLEY.
 
i know i need to confirm all this with the BMD index.

Yes that does help alot as there are so many David William / William David Taylors around and just Taylors in general i find it hard narrowing things down. it doesnt help that David was known as William either.
for example Davids son Frederick George was b. Oct 1902 - Sep 1903 but there are 8 in the BMD i applied for one birth cert. with the checking service but it wasn't him so £4. down the drain there!
I have had a look on IGI too but he is not there!

this would also explain why he doesn't appear on the 1881 census as he was not born until 4 months later!
any chance you could let me have the full details for the 1891 census page on David William Taylor

Ann BARRENGERS parents were Henry and Elizabeth. In 1851 they were in Dartford, and 1861 she was in Lewes aged 14 a servant.

She was still with David Morley in 1901, at St John Lewes
