George Denham b c1862
« on: Thursday 10 May 07 08:39 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the birth of George Denham.  His birth date is c 1862 and place given as St Giles. His father was James and he married a Sarah Campkin in March 1884 in Holborn.  All the George's traced have had the wrong fathers name.  The one that fits most is a Joseph (b. Watford), wife Harriett.  Any help would be much appreciated as he seems impossible to find.  I believe he had a sister Eleanor, also untraceable she married a Thomas Cane (Corne).

Hi Beagle,

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

I'm puzzled as to what your starting point is ... I can't see George giving his birthplace as St Giles in either 1881 or 1891 ... and father James is with him in 1881  ???

Is it before 1881 that you can't find them?  :)

Hello Tati, thanks for the reply.

I have checked the George Dunham and it certainly appears to fit very well - Ellen could be Eleanor, the year is right.  James is always shown as born St Andrews, so Wales seems a bit odd.  Will continue to check.  Is excting though as thought I would never make any progress.  I have met an unknown relative doing this research, so we are now working together so she will be intersted to see this.
