BLOORs from Cwm/Newmarket/Whitford
« on: Wednesday 09 May 07 23:13 BST (UK) »
Hi all,
I am trying to trace these elusive BLOORs from my tree. It has been hard work but a snipet of info from the LDS site has made me catch the 'lookup bug' again.
My ggggrandfather William BLOOR b1815 Newmarket, Flintshire was the illegitimate son to Joseph BLOOR b1787 Cwm and Ann Jones. We are sure that Joseph is William's father as he is named on William's marriage certificate and there aren't many Joseph Bloors around that area.
We have Joseph's father as Thomas BLOOR married to Mary EDWARDS from Cwm PR, but there is no baptism for  Thomas Bloor in the records. We don't know where these BLOORs originate from. If anybody has the PR for Trelawnyd or any other neighbouring villages to Cwm I would be most grateful for a lookup.  ;D
Many thanks in anticipation
Kind Regards
Nerys

Hi

I have blowers/bloors from the Cwm area, I do have a list of the bloors from the surrounding areas, but unfortunately it has gone walk about, so its not much help!! Although I remember that I couldn't find many around the area. My blowers come from a Joseph Bloor who was born in Efenechtyd 1845/6 father William born in Cwm mother Elizabeth born in Trelawnyd. Joseph moved to Brymbo after marrying a Catherine Edwards name became Blower (although some of the family kept Bloor). Could there be a connection?

Regards

Corinne

Hi Ri nnie,
You'll never guess, they are the same as my Bloors!!! I have got goosebumps!!!! William BLOOR b1815 married Elizabeth Davies, they had many children:
Ann c1840
Catherine c1843
Joseph c1846
John c1848
Samuel c 1850
Elizabeth c1854 This is when Elizabeth died and William married Hannah Davies 22/1/1859 Efenechtyd Church
They had 2 more children William b 1866 and David b 1870. My line follows William b1866.
I'd be very interested to get in touch with you to share what info I have. Funnily enough my mam has gone to Ruthin archives today to follow up on what I have recently found out about Joseph BLOOR, father to William b1815. He was born in Cwm 1788c. We know his parents name, but where they came from we don't know.
Kind Regards
