Thank you Geoff, still learning and its very addictive!
Some of the software is very expensive, so do try one of the cheaper versions first to practice with.  I have found that googling Paintshop I have found many online tutorials and I just practiced with one bit at a time.  Learning how to take out creases etc, then brighten and sharpen.  Now I'm just learning how to colour. Read some of the other threads on here by the people who have been doing restoration alot longer, they have some good tips!
Please acknowledge when a restorer works on your photos, it can take hours for them to work their magic

Please scan at 300dpi minimum to help save the restorers eyesight.

Hi geoff,

Try this, ideal for beginners plus there are several other things that may
interest you.   All free gratis no catches.  You may have to register I can't
remember. If you do you'll probably get offers on their latest software.
No big problem.  I used this software years ago and its ok for practicing
and getting used to the controls.   If you can download the manual which
takes you through things step by step, also look for the tutorials.
If you use it let me know how you get on.

         Free is Good,     Tomkin likes freebies ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi, Mudge:  Don't know what happened but notification of your last post to me was received, but couldn't find it on the website.  Suddenly it popped up in the "send a message" window!  Anyway, thanks for the advice and the restored photograph.  Looks like I have some work to do....

And then you might be able to see how we could have achieved
( possibly) better results for you, but I'll talk to you later.
