For 19th Century 'Society of Friends' Obituaries, you can find most of their "The Annual Monitor" published each year from the 1840s online, on 'internet archive' for free download. "William Hood" Selby 1870and found the 1871 Edition, for 1870 ...
https://archive.org/stream/annualmonitororo29alexFor some individuals there is some information about them, so check the pages of text before and after the list, but for others it is only a one line record, with their age. In most editions there is an errata and also worth checking the errata in the following year edition. Some Society of Friends deaths are reported in the years following.
Never been there, but Leeds University Library/Special Collections, have Quaker files for Selby and some other Yorkshire places?
