Towns/Villages
« on: Saturday 05 May 07 11:28 BST (UK) »
Knowing that the Vikings were responsible for towns/villages ending in the letters ..by ie Rugby, can anyone tell me or how I can find out myself (without scouring the road atlas) which is the most southerly named town ending in ....by?
Thank you

The dividing line runs diagonally from the south-east to north-west ish .... Danelaw areas agreed above and to the east of the line.... think it starts near London...

Try googling for an article amplifying this, and you'll hopefully get a fix on what you ask !

Heres a start .,.
