Thank you all for so much info, sorry I havent answered sooner.
Now where can I start..?
Trish asks could they have been outside England and Wales at census time? -I hadn't thought of them being together to travel before their marriage, but on reflection, one would hope they didn't meet for the first time at the Church, 1885.... I cant think of a reason for them to have gone anywhere... hang on, Jesse was in the Army, as he was pensioned in 1891
Thats a whole new area to check out... But I don't think Annie would have been posted with him.
Annies Mother then, Tati, Trish & Eyesee, was Charlotte Bates/Lucking, Died 1859, and Father died about 5 years later 1864 when Ann/ie was 15.
Stepmother was Mary Ann Hoad from Enfield Middlesex. Would she have stayed in Fyfield? I imagine Samuel Lucking next door rallying with Mary and making arrangements for the children.... Have to think about that, make sure Ive been paying full attention to your info..
And the St Marys Islington ref is intriguing Eyesee- Birth 1849 again. I would like to see the image to add as a footnote...
Thanks again for all your help, this has been quite a mobile group to track!
The next step could be military records...
Regards,
Geoff
