Hi Carlson

I was looking for clues as to Eliza Dabb nee Pearce's parentage.

The 1851 census could help you...

1851:
2 Fords Row, Redruth

Frederick Wm DABB  head unm 24 mining accountant
Eliza Dabb  mother  mar 47 b Kenwyn
Edwin brother 16 mining accountant
Eliza Pearce Dabb sister 9 scholar
Vaughan PEARCE Uncle unm 40 clerk to the fire safety company b Kenwyn

So we have Vaughan PEARCE ( b c 1811) who is the brother to Eliza DABB nee PEARCE.

In 1861 Vaughan PEARCE is 50( merchant's clerk, b Kenwyn) and still unmarried living at Foundry Terrace in Mylor...he has a servant with him.

In 1871;
Foundry terrace, Mylor
Vaughn PEARCE head unm 61 merchants clerk now born Chasewater
Eliza DABB , transcribed as DALB, sister wid 67 house keeper

there is a death of a PETER Vaughan Pearce b c 1808 died 4th quarter Falmouth 1876.

I wonder if this Peter b 1808 is the same as Vaughan b c  1810

According to IGI:
Peter Vaughan PEARCE christened 10 0ct 1808 Kenwyn
Parents:  Stephen Pearce and Mary

IGI
Eliza PEARCE christened  8 oct 1804 Kenwyn
parents: Stephen Pearce and mary

It always amazes me when answers are found in censuses of some years later.

I have found quite a few relatives that way.

A brilliant piece of deductive reasoning here.

Hi again

I found Peter PEARCE in 1841..

He is 31, clerk,  living in St Clements Truro... his name is written as Peter but it has a Capital 'V' through his name ... could this mean he is Peter VAUGHN Pearce !?  ::)

I also found a Stephen HARVEY Pearce on IGI, christened in Kenwyn on  6 Oct 1800, parents ...Stephen PEARCE and Mary ...I wonder if this is a sibling of your Eliza DABB nee Pearce and Vaughn Pearce ?? If it is maybe his middle name HARVEY could be a clue as to the mother's (Mary) maiden name !

OOO .... IGI
Marriage:
Stephen PEARCE
Mary HARVEY
2 Sept 1797
Sancreed Cronwall
This info was submitted.

what do you think?

It may be Fizzy but by googling it appears there is a Keigwin also  :-\

Keigwin, a farming hamlet on the B3306 coast road between St Ives and St Just
census puts it around Pendeen

so quite close to Sancreed I guess and quite a ways from Kenwyn ???

Hi  ;D

I wish I could find Samuel and Mary (Harvey) Pearce in 1841.... it would be nice to find their parents too. They have to have been b c 1778...if their first child was born in 1800 ...but then again there could be earlier children. If there are other children, with middle names,  that may give us a clue to Mary HARVEY's parents.
