Hi Lorraine,
Yes, Arthur married twice. Hepzibah died in 1886 and Arthur then married Mary Ann Garbutt in 1887 and went on to have 3 further children with her. When it comes to Thomas b1903, there is not alot out there. I wasn't even sure he existed as Arthur and Hepzibah also had a son in 1906 and named him John Thomas (thought maybe they could be one and the same) but on the 1911 census they state that they had had 7 children, 5 of which were still living in 1911, so assume that Thomas 1903 is correct. That still leaves me 1 more child to find for the first marriage and then to work out which 2 of those 7 died before 1911. I stopped working on my Richardson tree for a while as I kept coming up against brick walls. Every generation of Richardsons gave their children the same names and there's nothing to distinguish them - so many Thomas', Arthurs, James, George, Josephs, Jonathans etc.! And every generation had more than 5 kids! I must have initially got the Thomas name and DOB details from somewhere though - I'll have to go back and revisit. I can only think it was on George's attestation papers, which I couldn't view earlier. Do you have an email address? Maybe I can invite you directly to view my tree as a guest via ancestry? When it comes to moving South - it happened. My own dad went from Newcastle, to London and then to Wales. Branches of the family also went to Canada and Australia. In fact it's your line that went to Australia I think - I'll need to check. Might even be your lot that went to Canada too.
