Pub Walmer Road Old Earl of Zetland

Has the pub that stands across from St. Francis of Assisi Church on Walmer Road reopened? What happened to the artifacts that were in it when it was the Earl of Zetland? I am looking for information on James Place who had boxing and soccer trophies in the pub in the early 1900's. Any Place family still there?

Hi DP.
If you google the earl of zetland W11 you will get a whole list of pubs, looking at W11,
there is not a mention of the pub nowadays, there was in my day as I have had a few pints in there, as I used live just around the corner.
Regards Tom.

Thanks Tom
Do you ever remember drinking with Jim Place and any of the soccer tropheys or boxing trophies he had on display? My grandfather lived at #2 which I am guessing is at the other end from the brick kiln. They attended St. Francis of Assisi Church. The trophies seem to have gone missing.
