Wieland of Walworth Clockmaker?
« on: Friday 04 May 07 05:41 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know of a clockmaker by the name of Wieland who lived in Walworth what I believe is central London or Southwark.  He worked around 1800.  The only other Walworth I can find is about 222 miles from London but I can't find anything on the town on the Internet so I suspect it must be very small and not likely to have had a very skilled clockmaker in the late 18th century.

Thank-you for the information on Wieland of Walworth, Clock Maker.  I certainly didn't find that much information on my own.  Now I have to determine which one made my clock.  I will start with the one that actually says Walworth and see what he is noted for.  This clock is a
"gut fusee" type bracket clock and it is really well made. If anyone thinks this is their ancestor, send me an e-mail to email address removed by moderator - please use the secure Rootschat personal message system for the exchange of personal email addresses - thankyou and I could try to send a picture of it for your files.
