A friend's son has given me some info on his granfather - Cyril Newall (The Buffs), served in India, Burma and was captured at Dunkirk and ended up in Stalag XXA (Nr 5410). Can anyone throw any light on his service record from this scant info?

Give Wartime memories Project a glance,and in the search part put Stalag xxa,as they have some decent photos ect for you to veiw.

the best source in the the Red Cross. It will take some time yet the information is complex.

There are only 28 pages but it does give lists of escapers.

hi iv just seen your post , my father was in xxa , 2nd glosters , i wonder if hes name is on the list , william law , as i did hear he walked of a coulpe of times , thanks paul
