I am looking for my gg grandmother Isabella Lee b 1843 New Shildon. I believe she married Robert Jefferson in about 1862 ( Just need to find a Marriage )
I would really like to find her in 51 & 61. 1851 should tell me who her parents are.

Your help is much appreciated

Two possibles for 1861 but neither living or born in Shildon :-

Isabella LEE dau of Robert and Jane Born White Lee living Crook and Billy Row

Isabella LEE dau of Ann born Thornley living Thornley

Both of these girls appear on the 1851 as well so they can be discounted

Robert Jefferson 32
Isabella Jefferson 28
5 children plus
William Lee Boarder 27
Maybe William is a brother Can you see if he is around in 1851 please

Heavens just realised I searched the wrong family for you .  So Sorry. :-[

Taking into account that on the 1871 William LEE's birthplace is listed as Bishop Auckland, and year of birth about 1844, then I am a bit confused, but this is what I found :-

It looks a bit like that. May explain why Isabella was with Grand parents in 1851.
I will start the chase now and see what i come up with.

No worries Carol.  Just hope that it helps you to sort it all out.  Always happy to help - especially a North Shore City dweller.  ( my father in law was born in Milford and lived around that area for many years )

Hi Carol

Thomas Lyall was my husband's ggg grandfather.

Did you ever discover if Thomas and Ann Lee married?  The reason I ask is that I can't find a record of Thomas's death.  The only one that I can see that could be his shows him dying in 1867. 

There is a record of an Ann Lee marrying John Johnson in 1854 but not an Ann Lyall.  Was the daughter Ann Lyall as it says on 1851 census or Ann Lee as on 1861.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
