Is there any way that I can access the census for Dublin (any date) via the internet?

Hi,

There is no access that I know of to the 1901 and 1911 census online, only in the National Archives in Dublin, the dublin City Archives and (I think) at your local family history centre. I have seen a 1851 list of everyone that lived in the city on irishorigins.com but that's a pay per view site.

Hi tanib,

I suggest you lok for their marriage details in 1887 index. That should give your father's names and occupations, addresses and witness names. The indexes are on film at your local family history centre and at the Dublin GRO.

Hiya Folks,

Kate, I am sure Tanib knows her father's name and occupation.  8) I know what you mean though, I am sure this was a slip on your part and you meant her great grandfather.

Tanib, have you looked at http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths.php ? Several James Carey's are mentioned in the Valuations for Dublin which were recorded during the years 1848-51. One of them might be the father or grandfather of your James. Your James, married in 1887, was  probably born about 1860.
