I wondered about Shrewsbury too but looking at this photo I think it can't be... although it is very similar the porch is smaller and the lion is facing the wrong way.  There's another at Upton  but again the Lion seems to be the wrong way

Unless there has been work done on it of course...

Hi Freddibean

your photo has a wider porch with two pillars rather than one at shrewsbury... I suppose you could call and ask if they had replaced the porch at any time?

Thanks Milly my grandad lived in Kidderminster and Boston (I think) so Upton could be a good bet. Here is another photo of a rally/race not sure if it's in the same area though.

Hi Milly,

Thats brill, thank you very much, I am sure there is another one of "Ledbury" in the "biscuit tin".

I think I'll go there and see if the local businesses would like a copy. ;D

That Lion Hotel picture is really annoying me now >:(

I am wondering now you have Ledbury whether it could be the Upton Lion...  having had building work done where the coach house entrance was.

(see post below for link which I won't post again as it stretched the screen :-[  sorry mod)  (*)
