I lost my youngest sister yesterday, on the death cert it says it was Diabetes related,
but we think she had gone returned to her old habit (drugs)
Is it poss to get a report from the coroner, if so how do we go about it
many thanks for any help
Wellie

Hello wellie,

My thoughts are with you and your family.

My youngest sister died a couple of months ago.

It may take some time to get the results of the autopsy (post mortem).

There's an article on Henman's Ltd website about Inquests and the Coroner's Court.

Chris.

How sad for you.

I would contact the Coroner's Office.  Christopher's link has useful information about how they work. You can find the right one here:

http://www.coroner.org.uk/public/search.asp?letter=L&search=county

They are usually very helpful, you will probably talk to a coroner's officer.  As others have said, I suspect the death would have been reported to the Coroner.  But I would be very surprised if a post-mortem had been carried out so quickly.  They may have discussed the case and decided that it was possible to issue the certificate without further investigation.

Hi Wellie, I have a death certificate for my Great Uncle who was found dead in a field some years ago, it is signed by the coroner, so if you can see your sisters it should be on there, I believe you can obtain the report from the Coroners office at the local court. Please accept my sincere sympathy on your sad loss. Good Luck Dolly

I am so sorry; we'll pray that your sister will rest in peace.  If you don't get anywhere with the doctor, the police, or the Local Health Authority, then I would get some advice from a solicitor, if you feel this is something you need to pursue.
