THOMAS TAYLOR - CONVICT
« on: Friday 27 April 07 04:13 BST (UK) »
Good afternoon to all. I am trying to locate the birth of my ancestor Thomas Taylor. Thomas was convicted in 1814 in Gloucester Assise for larceny and was transported to Australia, When he arrived in Australian in late 1815 he was 15 years old. Thomas was given his Ticket of Leave in 1819 and was working in the Coolah area in the Northhern Tablelands when my GG  Grandfather Thomas Taylor was born. From there we have lost track of Thomas Taylor the convict.
We have ascertained that he was born in Warwick but there seems to be two Thomas Taylor's born within six weeks of each other who could be candidates. Does anyone know of any records that would link convictions with parents. Normally we would get his parents from a death certificate but there does not seem to be one which is not unsual for that time period given that Thomas was working on an outback station.
