request passenger list 'Invercargill'

Hi all
I have been unable to find a transcript for the ship 'Invercargill' from London to Port Chalmers on its 1877 voyage. I have the notice from the Otago Witness but the info is limited. I have searched the net (google,ships list, cyndi's etc) but have been unable to find. Not assisted or nominated passengers so no luck there. Has anyone come across this?
Any help appreciated!

Have you tried Find my past, unfortunately a paid site and Be sure you save any images you pay to look at or you will have to pay again.
Also check age of person before paying for image.

Hi and thanks, yes i have had a look there but nothing seems to match the names, and no records before 1890.
I have also paid for NZ archives to search but nothing there either. Am really stuck now! Any ideas?

Tried the Dunedin Public Library or the Otago NZSG people? There must be descendents of passengers from that vessel still living down there.

i have looked at the library catalogues and looks might it just be luck if it were there, however, may have to plan a trip down and see!
I have posted to a couple of message boards this evening, for Otago so maybe NZSG are watching. I'm ever hopeful. ;)

oh wow thanks mackiwi. The family is 'Tweedy' (or Tweedie), looking for John & Eleanor (ellen) and 4 or 6 children. They were Irish, the ship left London May 1877, arrived Port Chalmers August 1877. My fingers are crossed.

Further to our emails try Hocken Library, seems they have lists of paying passengers. Hopefully yours included. :)

No luck at the Hocken, some paying passenger lists, but oo early for mine. However worth the visit, many other resources there, found two of the children in school records and now i know what they have i can compile questions to look up when i go back again.
