Would early 1990s be too recent as I have some of me teaching from then.

If you want to know who the people are in my photos, my mum is the tallest  girl standing next to the teacher in the first one and  at the back with her hand raised in the second.

In the group shot my Gt Uncle is front row, 4th from the left. He and his elder brother (my Grandad) were orphaned when they were just 6 and 4 years old.
My Gt Grandad died at aged 30 of TB, and Gt Gran, knowing that she was also dying of it arranged to take her 2 boys to the orphanage before her death.

I can't begin to imagine how she felt when she left them there. It was the last time they ever saw her, as she died a few months later. I was always told she died of a broken heart, and I can believe it.

Genie fan, that's a great photo!  Look at all those little tackers, arms folded - they look so "tough"!  ;D

Here are a few of my mum's photos:
1.  1944 "Mrs Culverwell's Choir Class" (probably at Gladesville Public School, Sydney) - mum 2nd from right in front row
2.  1947 "Gladesville Girls' School, Grade 5A" - mum 2nd from right in 2nd back row
3.  1948 "Gladesville Girls' School, Grade 6A" - mum far right, back row.

I've just remembered that I have a photgraph of all the teachers at my secondary school taken in 1961.

I'll search it out and scan later today  :)
