Hi

In the real world, I teach physics.... ;-)

I am looking to see if anyone has any old photos of schools / teachers / classes / labs that they would be willing to share, so that I can get make a gallery of "how it used to be.."

Good condition or needing restoration ....

The higher the resolution the better.
All credit will be given if I actually use them on the wall ;-)

I've got a lovely one taken in late 1880s of my gran and her class and the teachers but it is in a very bad condition - cracks, sellotape, the lot. i might put it up for someone to restore the whole thing. I've only done my gran

This is the first time I've tried to post any pictures so I hope it works! It's only taken me about 45 mins to scan them, and even longer to try to figure out how to resize them as I seem only to be able to change the height/width, rather than the Kb size!

So fingers crossed!

These are my Mum in her Latin class, circa 1952 in Cornwall.

Well blow me down! It worked!!!

So Here goes another one... taken at the school in the Ashley Down Orphanage where my Grandad and his brother grew up,(circa 1913). Needs to have a crease removed though.

I have this one, 1911 Knockhall Infants School, featuring my Nana Ethel, fourth from left in the front row (the blurry one

). This was in Greenhithe, Kent.

I have another from Australia which I'm just resizing and will post in a tick.

This is Ulmarra primary school (New South Wales) in around 1895. My grandfather's big sister Ada is in the second row from the front, peeking out between the second and third girls in the front row. She died at the end of 1895

Sorry Glen, neither of these pics has a teacher in it, but in the Ulmarra pic you can just see the teacher off to the left hand side!

I have bigger versions of both these prints if you would like them.

Just remembered I have some class photos of my mum and her sister in the 1940s which I could post. Do you want ones from the 1970s or is that too late? I think I have some somewhere...

Yes, yes and yes - I feel a new idea brewing...

In the day I teach, at night I mess with photos for fun / beer. I am anticipating a new web site called "Images of Teaching" or something like that. A gallery site, with uploaded pics and biogs of the people in them... Need some form of model release / disclaimer I guess.

You guys and gals are excellent.

Teachers not necessary - "Images of teaching" -- I'll just pop off and register the web site ;-)
