Has anyone done any research on the Halpins in Meath? I am really struggling for that elusive breakthrough!
Patrick Halpin was born in 1842/3 in County Meath and moved to Lancashire around 1865 where he married Mary Nulty. She was also originally from County Meath and her father was James Nulty (deceased), a corn miller. Patrick's father was also called Patrick Halpin (deceased), a farmer.
Patrick Halpin (jnr) may have had a brother called Peter as his marriage certificate shows his father as Patrick too but he is shown as a lodger, not a brother, when he is living with Patrick on the 1881 census.
Finding Patrick's birth and parents in Meath is proving very difficult! Does anyone have any information or tips?
Thanks,
Pam
