Much Hadham Standon MI's - BATT/CUNDALE

My 3 x Great grandfather was one Francis Fuller b. 1816 hallingahm essex married Ann Cundale 15/12/1840 at Much Hadham

Marriage of Francis Fuller & Ann Cundale
December 15th 1840
Parish Church Much Hadham Hertfordshire

Francis Fuller 25 yearsa batchelor  resident in Much Hadham , a butcher
Ann Cundale 37 A widow resident in Much Hadham keeper of beer house

I believe Ann was previously Ann Batt born in Standon daughter of Joseph Batt ( b.1776 ) and Esther ? b.1776

Any death dates for any of the above or any related information would be very much appreciated.

This is what I have found, not sure if it will be much use to you.

Much Hadham Church Yard
-In Memory of Ware Fuller who departed this life October 24th 1798 aged 23 years
-Sacred to the memory of Ware Fuller who departed this life Arpil 28th 1824 aged 80 years

-Record of Catherine Fuller w. of W. Wm Fuller, Dean of Durham d. Oct 11th 1668 age 73. Recorded in 1906 by W.B. Gerish, not found in 1996

-No Cundale or Batt


In the Parish of Standon (St Mary's) Memorial Inscriptions I found this:
Found in 1906 by Gerish, but not in 1995
Batt Esther, died Nov 15th 1848 aged 72.

I am sure that the Esther Batt you refer to is my 4xGreat Grandmother. The age fits and the fact that her husband Joseph is listed as a widow in 1851 Census.

The other information may be of use but I dont have any link with those names yet.

Both Joseph and Esther Batt are shown in the 1841 census (HO107/434/11  F.4. P.2) at Standon.  The 1800-1851 Hertfordshire Burial Index records Esther age 73 buried at Standon St.Mary on 20Nov1848.

Thanks very much Peter - I did already have the census record, but not the burial date ( only the death date from Tara's MI.

That is very helpful. I wonder why the age (73) is different in the Burial index as all the info points to an age of 72, including the MI above and the 1841 census.

I searched the Standon Parish Records and found the following burial entry   ...

Joseph Batt of Standon  age 91  27Mar1866

Quite an innings.
