Just spotted the conversations about Runcorn and wondered if anyone has any information about Halton Village, especially the church[I was baptized there].Also any information about the Norton Station. My grandparents lived there when grandad James Bate was a ganger on that section of the line.I have very happy childhood memories of holidays in the house and walks up to Halton village for shopping.Planning to make a visit to old haunts this year so any info. would be useful. Surname interests,BATE, STOKES, GRICE

That book I ordered The changing face of Runcorn was brilliant. I gave it away as a present but it was full of old pictures Im sure Halton was probably there some where.

Hi

If you are on facebook there are several pages that deal with either old photos of Runcorn (including HaltonVillage) or the development of the town from its very early days to present day.

Log on to facebook and search for the following groups,

"The Development of Runcorn to a New Town"

"Runcorn Photos"

I hope this helps and is of interest.
