Hi Heather
I'm really sorry there is nothing for Lynch in St Quivox, Wallacetown or Newton Green.
But there is one entry in the Tarbolton book - don't know if it's any good to you -
Charles Lynch d 10 feb 1973 aged 71 beloved husband of Maitland McKay
Hope this helps

Hi RevMother2

Many thanks for your kind offer. Would you be so kind as to check for a John McCreadie who died at 9PM, 2nd August 1879? John was 31 years old and died less than one month after the birth of his son. The location and cause of death were recorded as “On board No. 1 tug boat in Ayr Harbour” and “Crushed to death under the lever of an engine” respectively. The family domicile was recorded as “8 Allison Street, Newton (sic) Ayr”. To date, I have been unable to determine if John was buried in Ayr or Ballantrae (I thought his father may have taken the remains to Ballantrae as he [father] was living in Ballantrae and “Informant” on Death Extract). I have checked with North and South Ayrshire and all the usual cemeteries in between but cannot locate John's final resting place.

Kindest regards and thank you.

Many thanks anyway. Although we share same surname and county of birth, I am determined to locate his final resting place.

Hi
A story like that would be in one of the local papers. Not sure how you go about seeing them. It would most likely be the Ayrshire Post.
Maybe their website would tell you. I think it is also available in the local refernce library - local collection. But that's not much good to you, is it?

Hi Q98
I've just looked on GenesReunited.co.uk and a girl has a John McCreadie born Girvan in 1848. I've emailed her to see if this is the same man as the one you are searching for. I'll let you know if I get anything back from her.

Hi Again  :)
You've got me going on tis story now!
Why don't you post something with his name and death story on Ayrshire Board, with his name and tragic death date in the title. It might trigger something from someone on RC.
good hunting
