That is a bit annoying, considering the journalist that was resesarching the booklet joined the site and asked us for lots of help about genealogy software etc!

We couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful.

The websites weren't ranked in order of 1-50, instead they were broken down into categories.  Rootschat was one of only seven listed under the heading of "making contacts".

I don't think there was any ranking at all. The sites listed seemed a very good selection - trying to limit it to 50 would be very difficult

Go to http://www.taliesin-arlein.net/names/search.php and choose
sort by ranking and it will list the top 250 names in use in England, Wales and the Isle of Man in September 2002 from Office of National Statistics database.

Both my maiden name and married name match only once in the name search and do not appear in the top 250 by ranking.

I always knew I was unique. ;D

Could be why I have so much difficulty finding my ancestors!  There weren't many of them.
