Castor is near Peterborough (Cambridgeshire) - lovely village, which has come under Northamptonshire in the past, I believe, but is now under Cambridgeshire:
These links should help:

http://www.visionofbritain.org.uk/place/place_page.jsp?p_id=7646
Peterborough library has historical records on this area in the  local history study room.
Hope this helps you.
Kind regards,
Willow154.

Back again-
Like you can't find any William Lilley near Castor - there are some at Leicester
William baptised 19 MAR 1797 Great Meeting Presbyterian, Leicester, Leicester, England
I think Castor is placed on or near the road from Peterborough to Leicester - might be worth investigating.
I have a relative who is researching Lilleys and they are from Leicester.
Good luck with the research.

Hi Willow 154,
re William lilley---According to my 1841 census of Helpstone Northants William was born in the county of Northants. according to his Mar; he Mar; at Etton Northants. This may not be true, his children were bap; at Castor Northants. I can`t find his birth or date of his death between 1841 and 1847. What you say could well be right about the Leicester connection maybe right, its worth a try. I have been looking for months. I am very interested in your relative perhaps we have something in common. Maybe  your relative could be in touch with me.
I look forward to a  reply.   J.L.

Hi John,
Thanks for your reply.
I'll contact my relative - she may want to join rootschat,  but she may wish to communicate another way - I'll let you know. Her relatives ended up in Notiinghamshire.
Just found a brilliant site on Castor:
http://www.castorailsworth.co.uk/
Look at the Camus Project - amazing!
Also you can get the information re William Lilly's birth at Leicester on this site - it may give details of his place of origin, but sadly it's not free:
http://www.bmdregisters.co.uk/bmdr/results.php?fn=william&sn=lilly&exact=yes&event=b&all_set=1&all_set=1&st=s
Hope this is of help.
The site on Castor mentions the roman road ermine street - might be worth seeing where this road passes through - it mention Water Newton which isn't far from Castor - but I can't see a birth  on family search mentioned.
Good hunting,
Kind regards,
Paulene.

Hi again John,
Spoke to my relative today who is researching the Lilleys - apparently the one from Leicestershire died without issue; so she does not think there will, at this stage, be any point in making contact. However, she does have some Lilley's from Oakham, Leicestershire, so if you find yourself linking in with these later then let me know.
Good luck with the research.
Paulene.
