And here he is ...right handed.   (I presumed gran was the wrong way round too - so did her as well - edited on original post)

McBride (Monaghan, Manchester), Derbyshire (Bollington,Cheshire), Knight (Newcastle,Staffs), Smith (Chorley, Lancs & Ireland), Tipladay (Manchester & Yorkshire) ,Steadman (Madeley,Shropshire), Steele (Manchester,Glasgow), Parkinson (Wigan, Lancashire), Lovatt, Cornes & Turner (Staffs) Stott (Oldham, Lancs). All ended up Ardwick, Manchester

sadly i dont have anything at all apart from this pic,luckily i have just made contact with another branch of his tree,maybe they will have something more to tell,thank you so much for your help at this hour,im off to bed now,before i end up looking like my gt gran ;D

Sorry...Being a complete saddo at this time of night/morning...(billy no mates)

Have been looking at his boots....they look like they have no toe caps...that means he could be younger than I first thought...could be 1917/8....

Curiouser and curiouser....

If he was discharged after 1922 Kentigern House, Historical Disclosures Section would be the way forward....

looking at his uniform a couple of things that stick out

the uniform is late WW1 economy issue (no pleats in top pockets),

there are no collar dogs (prior 1922),

he's wearing khaki service dress with a tropical helmet, I think he has just arrived in the middle east and not been kitted out properly yet

the bayonet is very long, longer than the 1917 patt issue, i know the territorials used older equipment until being resupplied in france, I am not sure when the 1917 bayonet was updated but I don't think it was undated by a longer model

wonder why the gent on the front row,second from the left has his strap thingy across his chest the wrong way to everyone else??
excuse the strap thingy comment,i know nothing about uniforms apart from richard gere looks good in one ;D
