I am trying to find the family of Mary Townend b1805 in Selby.  I have her married to George Lightowler b1806 in Knottingley, he was a Mariner.  They went onto have 8 children....

There are other families of the same name similarly indexed or transcribed wrongly in same area - Thomas and Emma and family; Sarah and family; Mark and Martha and family.- but you probably want the Townend part.

Thanks for those....they're a big help, also you've solved the query on Thomas's birth place!  I am interested in the whole Lightowler family...Elizabeth Lightowler b1842 in Selby was my gg grandma & I'm currently tracing the Lightowlers plus the Townend's.  I'm also looking for George's (b1806 in Knotts) parents aswell as Mary Townend's parents.

Something I have noticed...Mary's age differs quite alot between the census's...it's as much as 10 yrs in some cases

1841 - they round up or down to nearest 5 or similar - but 1851 to 1861 is about right- it shows at 11 yrs which is acceptable - depends on her birthday and the census date.
