From the current National Trust Handbook (Tatton being owned by the National Trust)
"We regret that photography is not permitted indoors when houses are open to visitors"
Could you contact the Property Manager and see if they have a postcard or other copy that they would sell you?

Which painting are you interested in Edge? I go to Tatton regularly.

hi richard..i appreciate your response.i am interested in samuel egerton's brother thomas egerton of glasnevin ireland.he is a bit of a mystery man in the egerton pedigree.most peerage records do not trace him..in fact the pedigree from tatton park does not list him.i have found out some info on him..and would like very much to see his image.there was a tiff in the family and thomas was disowned by his rich brother and uncle samuel egerton and samuel barber(hill) of shenstone and hawkestone.

apparently in tatton  a painting exists of thomas egerton which was painted by thomas hudson in the 1730's.it hangs in the staircase hall.

take care and thanks for the interest in my query.john.

Hello John,

Yes, the Egertons are fascinating. I haven't come across Thomas Egerton of Glasnevin despite having a good look round my records.

I'm sure that you are familiar with these sites, but just in case...

I do what I can about getting a picture for you.

Cheers,  Richard

Hi Edge,

I've not been to Tatton yet, but in the meantime have you seen these details concerning the Cheshire Visitations?

Also, Martin Goldstraw, who put this site together is something of an expert on prominent Cheshire families, he's bound to know of Thomas Egerton.
