Thomas was born Liskeard Cornwall and his Parents Robert & Mary Hawke were in Cramlington as well in 1901 & 1891.  Robert was born bodmin, Mary born Cambourne.  Also there was a Samuel Hawke in Cramlington 1901 a boot & Shoemaker, i do not know if they were related as yet but i do remember the shop in the late 1940s -  50s.   Any one researching the Hawke familys.  Gladys.

Hello Gladys.
On my last e-mail I did put Richard was born at Liskeard. He was born at Tywardreath in 1833 sorry for the mistake.   Richard's father was Robert Hawke, his mother was Mary Ann.  I don't know were Robert &  Mary Ann were married.
Robert Died at Tywardreath in 1840.
His son Richard married Mary Edwards (1st Wife)  in Aug  1858 Linkinhorne.
There Daughter  Emlyn was born at Linkinhorne in 1860.
There Son Richard was born at Liskeard in 1861 &  William Robert was born 1863 at Liskeard.
Mary died 1864.
Richard  married Catherine Seymour at Cramlington in 1866 ( Richard's sons were with them , I think Emlyn must have died.
A daughter was born at Bampton Northumberland in 1868 Elina.

Not long after that they moved to Cork, Ireland where two daughters were born
Catherine around 1870, & my Grandma Mary Seymour Hawke around 1871.

From there the family moved to Burnley, Lancs., where  son Thomas was born 1874.
Richard died in 1877 and he is buried at Burnley, Lancs.,

I don't know if Richard had any Brothers . He had a sister Mary born in 1831.

  Hazel.

Hello Hazel i can`t find my Robert Hawkes marriage to Mary i think Rickard as one of thier children was called James H Rickard Hawke so i cannot get any further back on Robert with not knowing who his father was.  Robert and Mary with family didn`t go to Cramlington till after 1871 census which i have the census fron 1901 back to 1861 so thats me at a brick wall.    I have no Richards in the Hawke family so i gather we are not connected, pity though. Happy hunting.   Regards Gladys.

Hi Gladys, I have Hawkes in my family but they came from the Truro area.   Richard Hawke b. 1808 at Gwennap married an ancestor of mine, Jane Renfrey b. Kenwyn 1806, in 1830  and later emigrated to Kapunda, Australia.
His father was John Hawke of Gwennap and G-father William Hawke of Kea.  Don't know if this is of any use, could be on the offchance.
Cheers Dave

Hi Dave my Robert Hawke was born Bodmin 1839 going off the 1881 census, the 1901 census he was born 1836 as his age differs and i can`t find his marriage to a Mary so i don`t know who his father is so i`ve just given up on him for now. There could be a connection some where if i could find out who Roberts father was, Thomas his son married my Great Aunt Frances Phitsu Henderson.  I have the census back to 1861 for my Hawkes and there is no Richard.  Have you got much on your Hawke family.    Thanks for your message.  gladys1    :)

Hello Gladys,
Your Robert Hawke's parents were John Hawke born 1802 in Bodmin and Elizabeth Blake born 1802 in Egloshayle.  They married 2 May 1824 in Bodmin and had 11 children between 1824 and 1850.  John Hawke was a shoemaker.
