Hi there

When you say" has anyone Joseph Mountford" what do you mean? Are
you looking for info on later censuses or are you after others tracing this
family??

I am after anyone who is related to Joseph Mountford as i believe  i may have found my Grt grt grandmother  working for them as a farm servant , her name was Jemima , and seeing as i cant find her anywhere else in 1841 and this matches her age etc  i wonder if she was related to them . As i would like to find out more about her parents .

I am researching the Boardman family of Stoke on Trent & their ancestors who lived in Brown Edge from the late 1700s.  If you are based in the UK there is a wonderful book written by Alan Pointon called A Brown Edge history which is out of print but can be borrowed from libraries in the UK.  This book has several mentions of Joseph Mountford & a picture of his house.

My ancestor, William Boardman, lived at Wood House very close to Stone House and a John Mountford was executor of his Will of 1857.

Not that I am aware of, they all seemed to be centred around Nth Staffordshire although William Boardman had ten children so it's possible they went further afield.

Cheers Alf
Will make a note of the names and see if they crop up again in the exsisting Mountfords or later generations as i am sure they must be a Brown Edge connection somewhere.
