My G Grandfather Frederick Vernon was a docks worker in 1901 I don't suppose he's on the list? The Vernon family also had a history of boiler making with Frederick's father Thomas Vernon coming to live in Cardiff at the end of the 1880s to, I believe, work on the docks building boilers. So any Vernon information would be of interest to me.

There are 26 names starting with the letter  S but sadly not that one or any thing that sounds or looks like this surname.
