hi all i am trying to find a family member who should have been in the parish record for a birth or a marriage but i am a little uncertain as to how they work and what details to enter into the search engine any info as to what i should be doing will help me alot the person i am trying to find is

james davies married elizabeth jones around the wigan area

james year of birth 1825 born blackburn

elizabeth jones born 1829 born wigan

Hi

There is a marriage registered for a James Davies to Elizabeth Jones in Wigan.

Details :-

James Davies April/July Qtr. 1850 Wigan, 21 - 706
Elizabeth Jones, (as above).

As for birth records, that could have been shown if the Vicar/Priest had entered
it at the time of the Christening. BMD records did not become compulsory until 1837.

According to www.LancashireBMD.org.uk  the marriage that genechaser kindly found for you of Elizabeth Jones and James Davies (transcribed as Davise on this site)  took place at All Saints, Wigan.
