street index census district

hi
Has anyone got a link for a street index for Manchester that will enable me to look up a street and then from that info go to Ancestry.com or similar and search through the pages contained there for that street name.
For example Chapel Street, Gorton, Manchester is in the parish of St Thomas, District 42;
if I go to the 1861 census in Ancestry and scroll down the page I can choose the link "Gorton" and this takes me to a selection of districts If I choose district 42 this will take me to the ecclesiastical district of St Thomas and searching through to page 42 gets me to Chapel Street.......If that makes sense.
Thanks
John

Hi,
Not a street index but it may help - the 1901 census can also be searched by address at
www.1901census.nationalarchives.gov.uk
. This is pay to view the record but it does give the ecclesiatical parish, municipal borough and ward etc. in the search results.

Hi
The 1881 census can also be searched by address. If you don't have access I'm sure someone on Rootschat will look for you.

Hi,
The website findmypast.com (1837online) has an address search for most places in 1841,1861,1871, and 1891.
I have a few credits i have to use up soon if youd like me to look for a certain street and census. Let me know if i can help,
Cathy
